"Bryan's writing has the uncanny ability to engage and challenge my more advanced players
while at the same time not overwhelming the others. Over my 30+ year career as a music educator,
Bryan has been one of my favorite composer/arrangers. I have NEVER been disappointed!"

Be Thou My Vision
EASY Frequently sought, often elusive... vision and wisdom. Be Thou My Vision prayerfully expresses the believer's joyful dependence on the Lord for supplying these two attributes of successful living. Mary E. Byrne (1880-1931) and Eleanor H. Hull (1860-1935) set their words to this beautiful, traditional Irish melody in 1927. Flowing lines and simple harmony grace this arrangement.

Road to Chancellorsville
EASY The Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia (May 1-4, 1863) is regarded as Robert E. Lee's most brilliant victory. However, some events are not what they seem to be: Civil War historian Bruce Catton wrote that this "...dazzling victory was sterile." Two months later, with the South desperate to recoup the losses of its "victory," Lee led his men north to defeat at Gettysburg. In less than two years, he surrendered his army at Appomattox and the war was over. While a small country road, perhaps, Chancellorsville turned out to be an important thoroughfare in the ultimate preservation of the Union.

Blue Ridge Summit
MEDIUM The Blue Ridge Mountains: the demarcation between the Tidewater and Piedmont regions of Colonial Virginia and the mysterious wilderness to the west. What lay beyond was known only to Native Americans and a few early traders and trappers who traveled the great valley of the Shenandoah. This geographic barrier - and the early Virginians' desire to explore and ultimately settle the region - is suggested by a six-note theme presented both as a fanfare and march. The slow, lyrical section suggests the magnificent view of the Shenandoah Valley and yet another set of mountains (the Appalachians) that greeted our early explorers from the summit of the Blue Ridge. These musical elements serve to remind the listener that these vast vistas and breathtaking views were to only hint at the possibilities awaiting a young nation.
